These three things remain, faith, hope and love,

gifts from on high to cherish and to cling to.

Love is the greatest, constant and eternal.

These three things remain, faith, hope and love.

I may have words, faith and knowledge

but without love all these things will perish and fade away.


Love is always kind, always patient and never proud.

Love is not jealous, hurtful or selfish,

love searches always for faith and happiness.

When we were children all we knew was childish,

we spoke and thought and shared our incompleteness.


Now we see in part, only darkly and through a glass,

now all I know is partial and temporary,

soon what is perfect will come to our lives.

These three things remain, faith, hope and love.

Love is our purpose, present and future.
